Wouter joined Crisalix in 2014 as Product Specialist in Barcelona, running live demos across DACH, UK, Benelux, and the Nordics. Within a year, he relocated to Prague to open Crisalix's first-ever SDR office — introducing the SDR sales model to the company for the first time.
In 2016, he moved to Manila to launch Crisalix Philippines — building the entire operation from zero: legal entity, physical office, hiring, onboarding, and training both SDR and customer success teams.
By 2020, as VP Sales for APAC, the Middle East, and Turkey, he scaled the regional customer base to over 300 active clinics — establishing Crisalix as the standard for 3D patient imaging across the region. Twelve years of working directly with plastic surgeons, dermatologists, and aesthetic practitioners.

While still at Crisalix, Wouter founded ChatPatient — a managed live-chat service built specifically for plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine practices. The insight: practices spending thousands on marketing, then losing the majority of leads because nobody was available to respond when patients were ready to engage.
More importantly, ChatPatient proved something critical: patient communication patterns in aesthetic medicine are systematic and predictable. The same questions, the same objections, the same decision points. That systematic understanding became the blueprint for AI automation.

Romea.AI didn't start with a business plan. It started with conversations. Practices he'd worked with started reaching out: "Can you build something that handles our after-hours inquiries?" "Can you automate our follow-up sequences?" "Can you integrate AI into our existing systems?"
Romea.AI launched in 2025 and grew to serve practices across the US, Australia, and the UK — entirely through referrals. No marketing spend. No cold outreach. Every client came because another practice told them: "This person understands what we do, and what he built actually works."
What sets Romea.AI apart is the combination of deep industry knowledge with hands-on technical architecture. Wouter doesn't just specify what a system should do — he architects how it should work at every level.
Before aesthetic medicine, he spent over a decade building technology businesses — from architecting one of the first online real estate platforms in the late 1990s, to building SaaS systems for corporate expat housing (clients including Accenture), to VoIP infrastructure with carrier-grade SIP routing, to co-founding a mortgage technology platform.
